GOD IS THE BIGGEST AND STRONGEST
BECAUSE GOD IS ALL-POWERFUL, (THE BIGGEST AND THE STRONGEST), HE CAN HELP ME WITH ANYTHING.
He does not derive His power from any other source; all power has always been His and will continue to be His for eternity.
Any power that we have comes ultimately from God.
-Bill Bright
God really is the Biggest and the Strongest! The years when our children are fascinated with superheroes is the perfect time to help them discover that God is the ultimate Super Hero!
There is no person, circumstance, or force of nature that can ever thwart His plans for their lives.
Teaching your children to trust in God's limitless Power, gives them a power source for every challenge life may bring. They won't just "survive" life; they will soar on the wings of eagles! (Isaiah 40:31).
O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and the earth by Your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for You. -- Jeremiah 32:17
Note to Parents:
This particular attribute may raise some questions for your children. It is sometimes difficult for children as well as adults to understand that in light of God's power, He allows devastating events to happen. God's power is expressed in the context of His perfect character and will; therefore, as questions arise regarding God's use of His power in over-coming evil, it needs to be taken in context with the whole of who God is.
1. If a friend were to ask you about God's power, what would you tell them?
2. What evidence of God's power have you seen this week?
3. In what ways have you relied on God's strength?
"ABIDE" FOR GOD IS ALL-POWERFUL
Family Night at the Movies!
Our objective during this Adventure is to help your child see the power of God. Watch a video that will depict God's power such as "Out of Egypt" or "The Ten Commandments." Although no movie version is totally accurate, these both point to the power of God. Create some discussion questions and talk about them after the movie.
For example:
a. What do you think you would have done if you saw God show His power this way?
b. What do you think was the most impressive, or awesome, display of Power?
c. If you were in Moses' place, how do you think you would feel? What do you think you would have done?

HELPING THE WEAK
Brainstorm with your kids ideas for helping others. Think of someone who is ill, weak, or needs assistance and make a plan for helping them. (Perhaps you could wash windows, rake leaves, or shop for groceries for an elderly person). Pray together and ask God to give you courage to share with this person where your strength comes from.
COLLAGE OF POWER!
Look for pictures and words in magazines and newspapers that describe God's strength. Paste them on a sheet of paper and create a collage of God's power!
JOURNAL JOTS:
-
In your journal, draw and label the different pieces of armor mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-17.
-
Write about which piece of armor you need to put on the most and how putting on the armor will help.
-
What is very hard for you to do? Is it hard for you to obey your parents or those in authority over you? Do you find it difficult to show kindness to someone who is not kind to you?
-
Ask God for strength this week to obey and show kindness.

STORMS:
Next time there is a big storm, capture the opportunity to help your children visualize how incredible God's power is. Watch the storm with them. Ooo and ahh over the lightening, the wind and the rain, (or the wind and the snow!) and then take a moment to thank God that He's even stronger than the storm!
NATURE:
If you're out walking with your kids, take advantage of the opportunity to talk about the power of God displayed in nature. Ask everyone to point out their favorite plant, flower or animal. Remind your children that God is so powerful that all He had to do was speak the word and all those things were created! If ever they doubt God's power, all they have to do is look around at what He's made!

BONUS ACTIVITIES FOR GOD IS ALL POWERFUL
CARD GAME: "STRONGER THAN"
-
Game Instructions: Using a regular deck of cards, mix up face cards and on all Ace's place a sticky note with the name "GOD" on it and play the war game. Begin by dealing the cards between 2 players face down. At the same time, each player turns over one card. The person who turns over the highest number or face card takes the cards.
Ace card (God card in this case) takes all. King takes Queen, Queen takes Jack, Jack takes 10 etc. When in doubt ask a parent to help you decide. Whenever the "God card" comes up, it always wins. God is always the most powerful (biggest and strongest)! Play this game like the game called "War." With larger families, take turns playing until everyone has had an opportunity to play.
